David Ball, the pioneer of electronic music, was widely known as one-half of the synth-pop duo, Soft Cell. For the unversed, Soft Cell consisted of the duo, vocalist, Marc Almond and David Ball. However, the sudden death of the electronic musician at the age of 66 came as a shock to his near and dear ones. What is worth mentioning is that David completed the new album, Danceteria, with Marc just a few days before his death on October 22, 2025. The album is set for release in 2026.
What caused the death of David Ball?
According to multiple reports, David Ball passed away peacefully in his sleep at his London home on October 22, 2025. While the exact cause of death is yet to be revealed, he died just weeks after performing a headline show with Soft Cell at the Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames. However, the last two years were not too good for David’s health. Due to ill health, David Ball had to perform in a wheelchair during the headline show.
