Love Island USA season 7 became one of the world’s favourite reality shows in July 2025, featuring interesting participants and their differing and messy definitions of love and commitment. However, even after the season came to an end, the show is still stirring drama. Recently, Love Island contestant, Huda Mustafa, who gained widespread fame, has been facing backlash for a situation involving former co-contestant, Olandria Carthen. Here’s the whole ordeal explained.
Huda Mustafa’s racism controversy, Love Island contestant and boyfriend laughed at a slur used at Olandria Carthen
The drama started during an Instagram Live of Huda Mustafa and her boyfriend, Louis Russell, on his account. The couple took a call from an unknown viewer. Before cutting off, the seemingly young caller referred to Huda’s Love Island co-star, Olandria Carthen with a racial slur. Huda and Louis laughed at the slur and did not immediately take offence. Louis then exclaimed ‘Whoa’, while Huda asked, “Yo, what the f***, what did they say? They said a bad word.” However, the initial laugh of the couple at the derogatory term has not been sitting well with people.
