India’s famous sitcom show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has hogged the limelight since the show’s inception. Fans were on cloud nine when they came to know that ‘Dayaben’, Jethalal’s innocent wife, would be returning to the small screen. Well, Disha Vakani ruled the hearts of everyone as ‘Daya’, but since she was on maternity leave in 2018, she has not returned to the show. Since then, the makers have been on the lookout for a new ‘Daya’, and according to a News 18 report, Kajal Pisal has been finalised.
Who is Kajal Pisal who auditioned for ‘Dayaben’s’ role?
The producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Asit Modi, reportedly has finalised on Kajal, who worked hard to audition for the iconic role of ‘Dayaben’. Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Kajal shared that she was waiting for the call from the TMKOC makers to come, but she never got the call. This made her realise that the role of ‘Dayaben’ was not meant for Kajal. The actress is best known for her role as ‘Ishika Kapoor’ in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. She was seen next to Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar. Kajal has also been a part of many shows like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, and, as of now, is being seen in Jhanak. It is interesting to note that in 2022, Asit claimed that Kajal was not selected for the role of ‘Dayaben’. He said in an interview with ABP:
