MTV has officially pulled the plug on one of its longest-running and most recognizable shows, Ridiculousness. The show’s end marks the end of an era for the network. The comedy clip show, featuring Rob Dyrdek, has been an integral part of MTV’s programming since the network’s debut in August 2011. Now, after 15 years, 46 seasons, and nearly 1,700 episodes, the show has decided to end, hinting at a major shift in its content direction for the future.
Why has Ridiculousness been cancelled?
According to Variety and TMZ, MTV’s top leadership decided to cancel Ridiculousness directly. For the unaware, the network recently merged with Paramount Skydance. Some inside sources revealed that the cast and crew were informed earlier this week that the current season would be their last. Although the already produced episodes would continue to air till 2026, no new ones will be film. The shooting had reportedly stopped in July 2025 and was expected to resume in January 2026. But the authorities decided to stop the filming. Sources cite that the decision is part of the network’s plan to “reimagine MTV for the future.”
