Wuthering Heights- Margot Robbie Turned Down Netflix’s USD 150M, Her Alleged Salary Is 12X Of Jacob

Emily Brontë’s only novel, Wuthering Heights, was first published in 1847 under the name of ‘Ellis Bell’. Now, the novel is being presented visually through a movie of the same name, featuring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in the lead roles. While the novel remained a classic one through centuries, the visual adaptation has now sparked widespread gossip, given that, while in literature the novel unfolded the dark and obsessive love story, on screen, which could be witnessed through the trailer, the movie became somewhat of a tragic love story. So, amid the gossip gaining momentum, let’s take a look at the salary scale that the actors were provided with.

Margot Robbie reportedly turned down USD 150 million from Netflix

Margot Robbie, who is the lead and one of the producers of the 2026 version of Wuthering Heights, reportedly turned down Netflix’s huge offer of USD 150 million, which reached out to them for the release of the movie on their platform. If a report by Variety is to be believed, Margot Robbie, rather than choosing the OTT giant, which, in recent years, outshone every other big platform, opted for a more traditional way, thereby giving the movie to Warner Bros, reportedly in exchange for USD 80 million, and theatrical release with a full-fledged campaign plan.
