However, did you know that in his real life, Zayed had faced immense trauma? He and his family had faced a financial crisis when Zayed’s dad, Sanjay Khan, got injured in a fire accident. Hell broke loose on Zayed’s family when a major fire broke down on the sets of Sanjay Khan’s The Sword of Tipu Sultan back in 1989. Sanjay had received third-degree burns, underwent 74 surgeries, and his family faced financial loss.

Zayed Khan shares that his home was mortgaged to cope with the financial situation

When Sanjay Khan was injured on the sets of The Sword of Tipu Sultan, 52 crew members lost their lives. All this took place due to the lack of firefighting equipment. Zayed, in a latest interview with Siddharth Kanan, shared that the fire accident had not only left Sanjay with third-degree burns but they financial loss and had to mortgage their home. They had to sell off their cars, compromise with their standard of living to deal with the situation. The actor noted:

“Like take autos, sell cars and get into taxis — yes. Our house was mortgaged, and many other things. You truly see who your friends are during times like that. We got better cars again once we came out of the situation.”
