While some of the ex-couples decided to end their marriage mutually and had an amicable divorce, there have been some who have gotten involved in a nasty battle with public arguments. Such a kind of publicly blown divorce case has been that of Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife, Amrita Singh. For the unversed, the duo had eloped to marry in 1991 and had called it quits 13 years later in 2004. Their divorce was hugely discussed in public and it evolved into nasty fight for alimony and an unfortunate custody battle.

After their divorce in 2004, Saif Ali Khan had to pay a hefty alimony of over 5 crores to his ex-wife, Amrita Singh and also take up the responsibility of managing the expenses of their kids, Sara and Ibrahim until they turned 18. Moreover, the court had also granted the custody of his kids to his ex-wife, with only visitation rights granted to him. However, in one of his earlier interviews with Telegraph, Saif had revealed how Amrita refused him to meet his kids, and even barred them from coming to meet and spend time with him.
